At The Talented X, we are stepping up our efforts in educating the black community on our history. Through enrichment and wellness programs, we will delve deep into our complex stories. From Africa to America, lies a wealth of inheritance and uniqueness. The Talented X will be sure to celebrate both attributes in the Pacific Northwest.

With this initiative, our goal is to engage the community through events and programs built to uplift and inspire. We hope to bridge communities together through shared ideas and accomplishments. Here at the Talented X we believe that anything is possible with the power of community.

    On June 19th, 1865 a group of Union Soldiers marched into Galveston, Texas. It was then, over 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation, that the Black People of Texas were finally informed of their freedom for the first time. Come celebrate this Black National Holiday with us, Portland!
